Committed to auteur cinema, he experiments with multi-formats, impact cinema (Outreach&Engagement), performance cinema, and cinema concerts. The search for new forms of representation is his main concern. His films have been recognized at important international film festivals like: IDFA, Biarritz, Seattle, Guadalajara, among others.

“Documentary filmmaker since 1983, after taking the Cinemateca Uruguaya film courses and others. In Cinemateca I worked from 1977 to 2004 from the board of directors to the coordination. I have directed the Divercine Festival since 1992 and Atlantidoc since 2007. I have produced international documentaries from Argentina to Germany. My penultimate documentary El padre de Gardel had 6000 spectators in theaters in Montevideo and sold 5000 DVDs through the newspaper El País. Currently I am making two documentaries: Máximo and Pasos en la niebla. I have won three Morosoli awards and others in Uruguay and abroad. I have been a festival judge from Berlin to China.

Valentina Díaz is Uruguayan choreographer, dancer and dance teacher. She holds a BA Degree in Choreographic Composition; and a Technical Degree in Dances Performance from the National University of Arts, Argentina. She has a Postgraduate in International Cultural Relations from the Girona University, Spain.
She has studied at the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance, EEUU (2011); and attended as a guest student at the School of Contemporary Dance from San Martín Theater in Buenos Aires, Argentina (2006, 2007 and 2014).
She currently lives in Montevideo, Uruguay, and is the director of GIRO – art and movement studio, located in Montevideo.
