Between July 18th and 30th, a new edition of the film festival and market DocMontevideo will be held in Montevideo in a hybrid format, combining the best of on-site and virtual activities.

As every year, DocMontevideo seeks to open, promote and strengthen the dialogue between Latin American television stations and independent producers, based on three main aspects: training, networking and market building.

DocMontevideo is the reference festival in Latin America for the audiovisual industry, and the largest market in Uruguay. Throughout its history, it has contributed to the visibility and international positioning of more than 180 non-fiction feature films and series from the continent, which were later awarded at leading festivals including Cannes, Berlin, IDFA, Toulouse, San Sebastian, Guadalajara, and BAFICI.

In this 2022 edition, the screenings of La Semana del Documental (Documentary Week) will take place on-site, along with specific training and exchange activities, focusing especially on national production and the creation of spaces for meeting and celebration. Thus, Documentary Week will have a great presence of Uruguayan previews, as well as various meeting formats to continue enhancing the network.

The traditional DocMontevideo Market and Training activities will be held in online: pitching documentaries films and series, meetings, a coproduction market, rough cuts, labs and the documentary seminar.
