Founded in 2011 by filmmaker Emiliano Mazza De Luca, PASSAPAROLA specializes in auteur cinema, creative documentaries, and international co-productions with a strong emphasis on artistic expression. Based in Uruguay, with strategic partnerships in Chile, Brazil, Mexico, and Spain, the company has developed a unique cinematic identity that blends poetic vision with themes of identity, memory, and social transformation.

2025 Line-up:
Currently in development is LAS DESPENADORAS / THE HEALER’S BLOOD, a drama infused with elements of magical realism and direct cinema, co-produced with Mexico, Brazil, and France. The company is also in post-production on COCAÍNA NEGRA / BLACK COCAINE, an auteur-driven true crime documentary in co-production with Chile.
In distribution: PAX IN LUCEM (2024), a film that explores the life and legacy of Uruguayan-Catalan artist Joaquín Torres García.

PASSAPAROLA´S films have been selected and awarded at prestigious international festivals including IDFA, Thessaloniki, Biarritz, GIFF, and Seattle IFF.
Notable titles include: LIFE ON BOARD (2018): A sensory journey aboard the Explorador, a cargo ship navigating the Paraná River, portraying the introspective lives of its crew on a symbolic voyage toward freedom. NEW VENICE (2016): A lyrical portrait of a stilt village in Colombia that rebuilds its identity and hope after a massacre, erecting a floating soccer field as a symbol of resistance and rebirth. CROWDS (2014): A sensory exploration of collective rituals in Uruguay, where faith, memory, and passion bring thousands together, revealing how crowds merge, transform, and dissolve—leaving the individual face-to-face with their own solitude.

PASSAPAROLA also offers consultancy services in project development, internationalization strategies, and social impact campaigns. With strong ties across Latin America and Europe, the company’s mission is to build bridges between territories, voices, and ways of storytelling.
