Synopsis:
Ten years after her father's death, Blanca returns to Rivera, a city split in two by the border with Brazil. Amidst religious traditions, family ties, and a present that no longer belongs to her, her return confronts her with a question she has spent years avoiding: who is she when she stops running?
Bio Director:
A 2011 graduate of the ECU, he currently leads content development at Región Cinema. He was selected for the 2025 "MeeThem!" program at the San Sebastián Film Festival. He is currently producing the feature-length documentary *Cuerpo Incómodo* (currently filming), which was recently selected for the Hot Docs DealMarket. He is directing *Blanca y sus universos*, his second feature film—a co-production with Brazil scheduled for release in 2027—which was an official selection at the Guadalajara Co-production Meeting. He is developing *El Robo de Lara*, his third feature film and first video game, which was selected by ANII for the Innovation Implementation program. He is also researching and developing the feature-length documentary *Astori, la fuerza de las ideas*. His debut feature, *Julio, felices por siempre* (released on Amazon in 2023), enjoyed a 12-week run in commercial cinemas in Uruguay and was named one of the top 10 films of 2022 by the newspaper *El País*. It was an official selection at festivals including Cinelatino Rencontres Toulouse, Philadelphia Latino, Toronto Latino, and Cine de Berna. Previously, he was the screenwriter for the 2017 feature-length documentary *Roslik y las caras sospechosamente rusas*. He served as director and screenwriter for the 2018 series *Las Paquitas del Humor* and the 2014 short film/web series *Obdulio el patriota*, and worked as a screenwriter for Taxi Films in 2009.
