Montevideo, 1986. She wrote and directed her first feature film ""Los tiburones"" - “The sharks” (fiction, 83', Uruguay, Argentina and Spain, 2019). Winner of the Film in Progress Award at San Sebastián International Film Festival 2018. Premiered at Sundance International FF 2019, where it obtains the Award for Best Direction. The film had a prominent international journey, selected in more than 50 international film festivals, such as: Sundance, Karlovy Vary, San Sebastián, Busan, La Habana, London, Lima, Chennai, Munich and São Paulo; and has obtained more than ten international awards, such as: Best Director at Sundance; Best Script, Best Actress and Special Jury Award at the Guadalajara Festival; Grand Prix Coup de Coeur at the Toulouse Festival; Special Award at the International competition at BAFICI; Best Movie and Best Actress at the Milan Festival, Best Opera Prima at Lima. The film has been sold in many territories along the world, such as: USA, Canada, LatAm, Africa - Sub-Saharan, China, New Zealand, South Korea, Commonwealth of Independent States and Turkey, among others. In the last two years Lucía has worked directing and editing two Amazon Prime series for Argentina (“Porno y Helado” and “Barra Brava”).
