Uruguay is expanding its package of audiovisual incentives with the launch of the Audiovisual Tax Credit, a new incentive that complements the Uruguay Audiovisual Program and further strengthens the country’s competitiveness as a destination for national and international productions.
The new incentive provides a transferable tax credit of up to 30% of eligible production expenditures incurred in Uruguay. It is available for international production and post-production services, international advertising productions, as well as eligible national productions and co-productions that meet the program requirements.
With this addition, Uruguay now offers one of the most competitive audiovisual incentive packages in Latin America, including 0% VAT on audiovisual production services, a Cash Rebate of up to 27%, and the new Audiovisual Tax Credit of up to 30%.
These incentives are complemented by a well-established production ecosystem, featuring highly qualified professionals, production companies with extensive international experience, world-class infrastructure, diverse locations within short travel distances, and a stable environment that ensures efficiency, reliability and security for production.
With the new Audiovisual Tax Credit, Uruguay continues to strengthen the conditions for developing film, television, advertising and digital content projects, reinforcing its position as a strategic partner for international productions. The implementation of the program will continue with the publication of the guidelines and eligibility requirements, which will be available soon.
